We had such a great time today at the Lied Discovery Museum with my mommy's group. It is such a neat place to take your kids. They have just about EVERYTHING to keep a kid learning & entertained all day long.
Taken from their website: "Lied Discovery Children’s Museum contains 23,000 square feet of temporary and permanent hands-on exhibits exploring science, art, culture and early childhood development. You and your children will be part of an informal learning environment highlighting discovery, surprise, and creative expression!"
Below is a picture of the outside of the building & when you walk inside they have the Berenstain Bears learning room. It is kind of set up like a tree house.
On the left is a tornado simulator, a baby play area & a giant pendulum. Also, set up was a mini-town atmosphere.
Jarrett fixing to take off in the plane!
He is happier now he has a beautiful co-pilot ;) He is a ladies man...
Art time! Jarrett made a duckie using glue, markers & feathers. And guess, what...none of it ended up in his mouth, ha!
Then we went over & played in the moon sand. It is really cool sand that molds really easily. Its almost like play dough sand. Our friend Deegan joined us, but he immediately put a huge handful of sand in his mouth. I thought it was so funny! (but, I'm sure his mama didnt ;)
Jarrett didn't enjoy being dressed up as a lion to much.
Playing with water & we had to take a picture in front of the big camera for Aunt Becky. I felt bad for Lil' J b/c he loves water, but was barely tall enough to stick his hands in the water.
More discovering & playing with friends!
Time to visit the mini-Smith's supermarket. Of course, Jarrett went right to the register & started pushing all the buttons. He loves buttons & lights!
Casting his vote....we'll just say its for American Idol ;) But, in this area they had a video you could watch about voting history.
This was one of the funnest areas for the boys. Kelly & I were up here with D & J for quite some time. There were these big tubes that you could put the balls in & it would suck them up, send them through a contraption similar to "Mouse Trap" & spit them back out again.
A little video of Jarrett playing in this area :)
Playing!
J & D kept touching each others hands & would laugh at each other. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. They love each other! I think D is a lot more laid back than J is. Maybe hanging around D is a good thing, ha ha.
After a LONG day at the museum, we were wiped out! It was such a fun day & we will definitely be going back. It was nice to find a great indoor place to take our babies to where they can learn & play. Especially since it is SO hot in the summer!
What a fun day!!! We have a children's museum about 80 miles from us that I've been wanting to take the kids too! Now, I really want to check it out!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures of your handsome little guy. That looks like a GREAT place to go play. Way to make the most of a fun day together :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a really great musuem!! Glad y'all had a fun time. :)
ReplyDeleteThat place IS pretty cool! Although I haven't taken Antonio since Baby C has been born. The though of managing both of them is a little overwhelming.
