Apartment Life

Ya know, living in an apartment has its "ups & downs". It is really nice since I work in property management that we can live on the property I work at & I can get up in the morning & walk to work around the corner to the office. Saves lots of time & gas. Of course, we want to be able to buy a home someday, but right now this is a good opportunity for us to pay off debt & save up money. We could probably have one baby here no problem (and I seriously don't know if we'll even have another - I will just be so elated to have ONE!). And, I think there are a few really sweet mexican ladies that live on the property I work at who could watch the baby. It seems like that would work out well. And, hey - maybe they can teach me some Spanish & the baby! Anyways, speaking of babies...

I got my little fur babies a few new squeaky toys. Billie goes nuts trying to get the squeak ball out of them. I'll come home & we'll find stuffing all over the floor. But, I found these at Wal-Mart for .97 cents apiece! Jason calls them the little "marshmallow men". I don't want my babies getting bored while were at work all day :)

I also made this new crock pot recipe tonight. I tried to take pictures of what I was making. I made "Crockpot Chicken Barbecue" & it turned out pretty well. Jason LOVED it. You shred the chicken after its been soaking in the crock pot & the meat just falls apart. It's so yummy. I took some pics, but they don't look that great! HA!

You can put your pulled barbecue chicken on buns or bread, but we decided to stuff ours into Baked Potatoes. SO GOOD! I will be making this again.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

* 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (just FYI, I doubled this whole recipe)
* 1 1/2 cups tomato ketchup
* 3 tablespoons brown sugar
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
* 1 teaspoon ground red hot pepper flakes, or to taste (i left these out)
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation:
Combine all ingredients for the sauce in the slow cooker. Add the chicken, try to coat it well with the sauce.

Cook on high 3-4 hours, or until chicken is fully cooked all the way through. Then shred or cut up the chicken, and replace it in the Barbecue sauce in the pot; mix it all up so all the pieces are coated.

You can keep the slow cooker on low to keep the chicken warm for serving on hard rolls.

Go HERE to find the recipe online.

And, I really haven't posted any pics of our apartment b/c I'm not that great at decorating & styling a home. I see so many blogs with women that have such incredible style & taste. It is hard for me! Anyways, Here is our main living area. The kitchen, dining & living room. It's where I watch all of my DVR shows! I just thought I would give ya'll a glimpse at our little apartment life.

I bought these 2 brown pillows at Wal-Mart b/c I thought they were cute. I know our living room is pretty plain. I just need help picking out accessories **cough** SUMMER ;) We just have plain cream colored leather furniture & some lamps! And, of course the TV.

This is our kitchen area. Its pretty basic & doesn't have a lot of storage. I swear I have to fight to squeeze things in everywhere, but we like it.

I'm still working on the rest of the apartment & I want to get a new comforter set for our bed. Well, I have a meeting ALL day Wednesday at work! Have a great day ladies!
