Poor little tooshie!
My mom knitted Jarrett a beautiful red blankie to match his nursery. We had him cuddled up in it tonight & I wanted to post a few pictures of him wrapped up in Nana's blanket. He loves it Nana! Thank you so much :)
And, I also want to thank a dear friend Lisa Piggee that Becky & I used to work with. She moved to Chicago a while back & she know's Becky & I love Oprah! She sent the sweetest card, an Oprah onsie & a the softest little Oprah socks. Here is Jarrett sporting his Oprah gear:

I heard that cornstarch works better than baby powder. Also, Butt Paste is the greatest diaper cream! Good luck and your baby boy is SO handsome!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie--
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures :)
Sorry to hear Jarrett has diaper rash. Back in Ohio (where we lived when Jeven was a baby) her Dr. recommended something that the pharmacies had there. It was not a presription but they made it there. It was a mixture of Maalox and Aquaphor. Sounds weird I know, but it was the best lotion/creme ever made and worked wonders for diaper rash. Not sure if pharmacies have it here, but it's worth a try to maybe ask.
PS-after I left the first comment, I went and "googled" Maalox and Aquaphor and quite a few things came up. Might want to try that :)
ReplyDeleteI have a suggestion with bath time. When Logan was little my husband gave all the baths (since I nursed he wanted to be able to give the baths for his time alone with him) but I remember he use to get a wash cloth wet and put it on him to cover his chest so he stayed warm. Try that. Perhaps he is only crying because he is cold. I think he looks just like daddy! Give him a squeeze me.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog. With the diaper rash we found with our 8 week old that one brand of diapers always irritates him and if you are breastfeeding try staying away from things that are high in acidity for a few days. Once I did that his hiney was as good as new.
ReplyDeleteBless his poor little bottom!
ReplyDeleteI heard that breast fed babies didn't get rashes..hmm..guess that's wrong!
We always used A&D ointment on my son. It's nice because it's not pasty and it smells good. I've also heard others recommend Udder Cream that you get from a vet. Some of my friends swore by it and their daughter got awful rashes and it cleared them right up. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHe is SO tiny! I can't even remember what that was like hardly. *sob* We didn't have trouble with rashes until my DS quit nursing. I've found one of the best remedies is to just let them air dry. With every diaper change I rinse his bottom off under the faucet, and just let him air out for a bit. It has made for some interesting accidents *ahem* but they clear right up! I also implemented a probiotic into his diet and that has really helped. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhen Sylvie had a diaper rash, I found that instead of using baby wipes, I used bounty paper towels with water because baby wipes have alcohol and it irritated her tushie! May wanna try that if you can. (make sure its a soft paper towel like bounce or something though, not the scratchy kind. FYI, he is beautiful!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLet Jarrett lie around without a diaper for about an hour. You can lay him on a diaper, just keep the diaper open so his rash will get air on it. It should really help. We've had to do that with Jasmine several times and it works like a charm. The air dries it out.
ReplyDeleteSomething else that we do is switch between Butt Paste & Desitin. If we use the same cream it doesn't work as well as when we switch off between two.
I hope his rash heals up quickly! I know they're painful and look awful too.
My daughter gets diaper rash with huggies because they don't wisk away moisture like pampers. I always use Burts Bees baby powder because it is corn starch based. Poor little guy! How are you doing as a new mommy? So many changes! Blessed but big!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about his toosh:( His hair looks strawberry blond from the back! Too cute!
