We had a good 4th of July this year. My mom is here from Arkansas & it so nice to see my mommy! I wish she could stay forever :( I haven't seen her since Christmas. It is so bittersweet getting to see your family when you live so far away. I miss my family & friends from back home. Although, I love my new friends I have made here. My mom cooked last night & grilled tonight. Tonight we had grilled chicken, veggies, baked potatoes & chocolate cake. Mmmmm! I haven't done a load of laundry since she got here or cooked. I'm soaking up every second of having my mama here!
Anyways, we started our 4th of July day off by going to visit "Ta-Ta", Jarrett's babysitter (aka. other grandma) We are so grateful for this wonderful woman. She is truly a blessing in our lives & loves my baby like he is her own family. She told my mom that "he is her life". That just touched my heart because I know how much Jarrett means to her & how much she means to us. I don't know what I would do without her! Since my mom is watching lil' J while she is her, Ta-Ta is missing her little "papucho".
After our visit with Ta-Ta, we went to Caesar's Palace & ate at the Cheesecake Factory. That place is SO good! While waiting on our table, we looked at all the fishes in the big aquarium. Jarrett kept pointing to them. He has such a personality these days & is talking, talking, talking. We don't quite understand what he is saying yet, but he does say the word "NO" a lot. Poor baby...ha!
My mom & Jarrett:
There was another little boy looking at the fishes too. Jarrett kept trying to touch him & pat his back. It is interesting to see how young kids start to interact with each other. The other little boy was really sweet & I don't think he minded all of Jarrett's talking & patting ;)
Me & Jarrett in front of the aquarium. He is wearing the 4th of July shirt I made:
I was SO excited when I got an e-mail from my blogging friend Lacy the night before saying they would be in town & asking if I would like to meet up. Of course I wanted to meet her! They were traveling from Michigan to California because her hubby is getting relocated. They will be living in San Diego...not to far away! I hope that we can take our boys to the zoo there someday, because I've heard it was AWESOME. Lacy & I were pregnant with our boys at the same time. Colin is about 2 weeks younger than Jarrett, but if Jarrett would have been born on his actual due date, they would only be 1 day apart! Go check out Lacy's blog. She made a really sweet post about our visit together & how our boys interacted with each other. I wanted to show this sequence of photos because this just shows how hard it is to get a good picture with 2 toddlers! It is very hard to get everyone looking in the same direction, ha!
Finally a pretty good one :D
And a couple more pictures of our boys:
