Well, I don't think Jarrett is "eagerly" taking his breathing treatments, but he sure is curious about them! He does pretty well most of the time, unless he is hungry or fussy. For some reason, he has been waking up in the middle of the night lately. Almost every night since we got out of the hospital. I'm not sure if it is because of the treatments or he is just hungry? It sure is making me tired though & I can't wait for my momma to get here!
Here's a few pictures of Jarrett getting his breathing treatment tonight. It's hard to keep the hose in front of his face because he keeps trying to play with it & stick it in his mouth!
Are they albuterol breathing treatments? When I take albuterol, while making my cough feel much better...it can sometimes make my heart race fast and make it a little hard to sleep soundly. The doc says it is safe but maybe that is the reason why he is waking up.
ReplyDeleteYes, albuterol is a steroid, so if that's what Jarrett is on, then that's probably why he's waking up. It can cause your heart to race a little sometimes, and make you less sleepy. Does Jarrett have a mask he uses, or is it just the tube? Ryan used to HATE his breathing treatments, but he would tolerate them if we sang to him the entire time :)
ReplyDeleteAwww... so cute - the poor little guy. Sorry you're still having a rough time - hope it all calms down for you soon. Big hugs my friend! xoxoxo

Does he have the mask?? My guys HATED the mask and it was like they were being murdered when we tried to make them wear it and thus made the situation much worse. Know that it does get better and they do grow out of it. We use to get treatments all the time and now that the boys are older they rarely ever need a treatment. One thing that helped a ton was the fact that we had wood flooring in our last house which we did not have in our first house. After a few moths of living there they rarely needed treatments. Now we are back to carpet in the new house and this past winter and spring the machine came out a bit more often.
